AMBIENT MUSIC
Sound Design & Ambient Music
What do Sound Design and Ambient Music have to do with each other?
Well, part of the job of a Sound Designer is creating soundscapes and ambiences. We design ambient textures to make settings feel alive (e.g., a tense jungle, a ghostly hallway) and add depth, tension, or emotion to scenes silently. If you've read the Terms and Conditions, there is a clause that says I do not score or write any original songs. But, if hired as a SFX Editor/Designer, I will, at tines, create Ambient Music as part of my design. It's up to you if this is desired by you, the creator.

See below for some examples of my Ambient work.

What is Ambient Music?
Ambient music is a genre of music that emphasizes tone, atmosphere, and mood over traditional musical structure or rhythm. It is often slow, minimalistic, and designed to create a sense of space or environment. The goal is usually to enhance or transform the listener's perception of their surroundings, often blending into the background rather than demanding active attention.

Key characteristics of ambient music:

-
Minimal melody and rhythm: Often lacks a strong beat or structured progression.
-
Emphasis on texture and tone: Uses synthesizers, field recordings, and effects to create immersive soundscapes.
-
Slow and evolving: Changes happen gradually, contributing to a meditative or contemplative feel.
-
Atmospheric and spacious: Designed to evoke a place, mood, or state of mind—ranging from peaceful and serene to eerie and mysterious.
